The Mercure Budapest Hotel, a 4-star establishment located in the historic district of the Danube Pearl, has undergone a major makeover. The author of the design of the new interior is the Warsaw studio Tremend. Now the building alludes to a full of energy and contrasts Budapest. Distinct colors, open space, connections with industrialism, pop culture, and the geometry of the urban fabric - all this makes the Mercure Budapest Hotel a comfortable place not only for organizing conferences, but also for leisure and enjoying free time. One of the important elements of the new arrangement is the use of Cheri chairs in the restaurant part of the hotel.
Mercure Budapest - atmosphere and location
The Mercure Budapest Hotel, belonging to the Accor Hotels chain, is one of the most popular hotel points on the city map. Its success is the result of several important strengths. The facility has a good location in the vicinity of the historic castle district and not far from the commercial district. There is an underground station nearby and stops allowing for the use other public means of transport.
Access by car and tourist bus is facilitated by the proximity to the M1 / M7 motorway. The facility is often chosen as a conference and accommodation base during business trips. It is also an ideal place for tourists who plan to visit Budapest for a few days and experience its unique atmosphere. In addition to 343 air-conditioned rooms and 300 conference places, the hotel also offers comfortable car parks (including one private, indoor with 40 spaces and a parking lot for tourist buses), boutiques, two restaurants, a bar and all amenities related to guest service, among others: 24-hour reception and laundry service. The facility is adapted to the needs of handicapped people.
Interior storytelling - designs by the Tremend studio
The Tremend company, which is the author of the new interior design of the Budapest hotel, provides comprehensive design and investment project management services in Poland and Europe. The company has completed over 150 implementations for well-known Polish and international brands, including Hampton by Hilton, Auchan or Decathlon. Tremend's team includes experienced and specialized designers, architects and engineers.
The studio's specialty is storytelling. It is an innovative approach in interior design based on a departure from thinking about the building and walls themselves, that only meet specific requirements and trends. It is important to convey an interesting story, create a narrative of the project based on the so-called local touch, referring with the interior to the character and history of the place where the building is located, and as a result - creating a relationship with the person visiting it. A project that reflects these principles is another Tremend project - Mercure Budapest Hotel.
The energy, colors and character of the city
The authors of the Mercure Budapest Hotel metamorphosis project emphasize their sympathy for the diversity and unique character of the city, which inspired the creation of the interior. Its characteristic features are colorful metro stations, beautiful bridges, the majestic Danube and the contrast between old buildings and modern form.
It is also energy and momentum, resulting from the turbulent, interesting history of the city, and thus - a large number of visitors. A hotel from the Accor Hotels chain is another realization of the Warsaw studio in this city. Inside, in line with the storytelling principle, there were also references to the Hungarian capital. A map appeared on the ceiling, in the corners of the hall - an old school car, and on the walls - colorful murals depicting the architectural attractions of Budapest. The interior of the hotel is a mixture of colors and textures that perfectly reflect the nature of the pearl of the Danube. Freshness meets old age, young spirit meets history. Everything has been finished in a modern, industrial style.
Iker chairs in interior design
The arrangement by Tremend could not forgo comfortable, with definite colors, and at the same time fashionable and functional upholstered furniture. The hotel and gastronomic space has its own rules - high intensity of use, the need for easy and quick removal of pollutants, demanding customers. All this makes the choice of hotel furniture an important investment that will pay off over the years.
The Warsaw studio used the Cheri collection by German designers, WertelOberfell, made especially for the Polish brand Iker. The collection is characterized by a perfect combination of modernity and current trends with the use of high-quality materials and a harmonious, ergonomic form. Pleasant velour breaks the steel, matt frame. The nature of the furniture and its varied colors allow for interesting arrangement solutions. The studio used two models of Cheri chairs - low and higher bar stools, in red, light gray and navy blue.
The furniture complemented the distinct interior of the restaurant and hotel bar. Higher bar stools with velour upholstery and black, matt steel frames were placed next to taller table tops made of natural wood. The lower bar stools were placed at classic restaurant tables. The entirety, together with an industrial lighting fixture, an interesting wall finish in the street art style and a natural wooden floor, creates a comfortable, atmospheric space for dining, business and social meetings. The chairs have an appropriately profiled backrest and a soft seat, thanks to which the hotel restaurant gained a chillout character.
